Ridgetop Clearing - original

As you crest the ridge, you find yourself stepping out of the forest and into a clearing bathed in sunlight. Way up ahead you can see the next ridge over, a valley separates it from you. Your breath is heavy, flies and gnats find your eyes again as you stand still. You're the only person for miles, but you know you're in good company.
